A/C not blowing cold air?

Check to see if the filter is dirty. A dirty filter will not only prevent the a/c from blowing cold air but also cause a water leak if the evaporator ices up due to a lack of airflow. If this is the case shut unit off to de ice evaporator coil and install new filter once the ice is completely gone.
Check all supply registers to make sure they are all open, because not only will a closed register prevent cold air from reaching out a room but also if enough of them are close it will also act like a plug filter and ice up your evaporator.
Damage ductwork will also affect the air flow. Ductwork is a system of pipes that carry cold or hot air from your heater/ac unit to the rooms. If some sections of ductwork are pinched or damaged where they are leaking air, you are most likely heating or cooling unwanted spaces like the attic or basement depending where the ductwork runs through. This will also reduce your system capacity as you are losing cooling and heating power, costing you more money as the unit will have to run more to try to reach temperature and in most cases due to the reduced capacity (losing air in some unwanted areas) it will not satisfy the thermostat.
A defective thermostat will also keep the unit from blowing cold air as it is responsible for bringing the unit on and shutting it off as well. A faulty thermostat could be shutting the unit off too early or not bringing it on at all. Replace the thermostat batteries if applicable and reset power to the furnace.
Check to see if the compressor is running, it is located in the condensing unit outside the house. The compressor is the heart of the system and it’s responsible for circulating the refrigerant throughout the system, without it no cooling can happen. Check to see if the breaker is tripped,This is a good indication of what’s going on in the system. If there is no power, recommend getting a trained technician to troubleshoot the electrical.

Heater not blowing hot air?

Check the filter and replace if necessary. Airflow is one of the key elements of the HVAC system. Any significant amount of interruption of airflow has a direct effect on the performance of the heater. Whether the filter is dirty, supply registers are closed or blocked by furniture or ductwork is damaged blocking the air flow, it will cause the furnace to overheat causing it to short cycle and shutdown. Proper maintenance will solve and extend the life of the furnace.
Check the thermostat and replace the batteries if applicable.
